The party of change?

This is how the "Party of Change" behaves toward the outgoing President of the United States? And surprise surprise there is virtually no mention of it in the "mainstream" (read that Liberal) media. Had the roles been reversed, ie crowd booing and taunting an outgoing dem president, you can bet your ass it would have been plastered on the front page and headline of every paper and news report from here to hell and back.

And here we go.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hde4s-xBhqE

What a moron. THE most important oath he will EVER take IN HIS LIFE, and he can't even get it right. He want's to lead the greatest nation on earth and he can't even get through the Oath of Office without screwing it up. What's he going to do when he has a real problem on his hands. Blame the man administering the oath all you want, but the fact remains, HE COULD NOT EVEN REPEAT WHAT HE WAS TOLD TO SAY WITHOUT MESSING UP!! So much for your "eloquent" speaker.

In other news, Your guy thinks he can tell people who they should listen to as well.

Sounds like a childish threat to me. I think the first paragraph says all you need to know about the arrogant ass living in the whitehouse

One last reminder to Mr. Obama

by Steve Osborn

Dear Mr. Obama, You are about to take Bible in hand and repeat the following:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

I ask that you consider this oath and what it means. I have been watching your selection of the players on your new team, and see that many of them are the authors or the worker bees that have shredded our Constitution and Government. That does not give me confidence.

I watched your introduction of your new team and saw only one brief mention of the Constitution. The rest was dedicated to a need for more intrusiveness, more spying, more searching and restricting of We the People. That does not give me confidence.

I listened to your campaign promises to end the wars and end the gulags and have watched you hedge and back off on every one of these promises. Now we are to have more and wider wars, we are continuing to back Israel including sending them several thousand tons more munitions as they raze Gaza and slaughter its population. Closing the gulags is going to be complex and time consuming. That does not give me confidence.

You indicated that We the People, not They the Wealthy would be helped to survive in the economic chaos brought on by the Bush "help the wealthy" program. My bank does not have any money to loan to the retired, the marginally employed, to refinance stressed mortgages, etc., but it did buy another bank since they got the bailout. That does not give me confidence.

You are said to be a Constitutional scholar. You should know that the Constitution mandates impeachments and bars pardons for the impeached. That the impeachment process is much like a Grand Jury. It certainly does not require multi-million or billion dollar investigations when anybody with a copy of the Constitution and Bill of Rights can point out many repeated violations of the documents and, many noted scholars as well as laymen have produced excellent Articles of Impeachment, only to have them ignored or tabled. Yet, you now hedge and say that bringing these crimes into the open would be counter productive, or that proof would be difficult and costly to obtain. That does not give me confidence.

In short, since you won the election, I have seen a great deal of "Bush Lite" and "Business as usual." I think you should heed the words of Thomas Jefferson, who said, "The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first."

We the People have watched those chains being systematically cut and shattered by all three branches of the government. What Jefferson feared and warned about has come to pass. You were elected to bring about change, to restore our Constitution and bring some honesty and decency back to the United States, to tie the government back down with the chains of the Constitution. We see you hedging around that mandate. That does not give me confidence.

We have watched the American People being turned into homeless serfs as the wealth of the country has been bled off by the Oligarchy that has run the country for the past few decades and its jobs have been outsourced to countries where desperate people will work for a couple of dollars per day, then further to where starving people will work for a handful of rice. That does not give me confidence.

If you are not going to work to return our country to us, to restore our Constitution and Bill of Rights as the rule and guide of our nation, and act internationally to restore respect for, in place of fear of, the United States in the world. That does not give me confidence.

If, in fact, we are looking at four more years of an unconstitutional and growing police state, then I ask all of you to remember another of Jefferson's quotes. "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."
That worked two hundred and thirty-three years ago in shedding another tyranny and, that does give me confidence.

Don't let us down again.
Sincerely,
Steve Osborn

Pissing in your Cherios

I thought I'd better start my tirades on a separate blog, as they seem to have hit a very sore nerve with some of my family. There have always been thinly veiled political jabs on our family blog, but recently mine have been more up front and honest.
I lean neither right or left, but more in the middle. While I like President Bush, I'll be the first to tell you he wasn't perfect as a leader, He at least had the testicular fortitude to do what was necessary at the time. Yeah, he made some mistakes, he made some unpopular decisions, he even screwed up more than once. But I still think he was good for us. Can you imagine a wishy washy Al Gore on 9-11?

I didn't vote for Obama, nor did I vote for McCain. I think both of them were too wrong for the job. Neither of them would be willing to run the government on a pay-as-you-go basis. Both were/are planning TRILLIONS in new spending. Those TRILLIONS have to come from somewhere, and as the government doesn't generate income, it's gonna come out of our pockets.

I've put up with the jabs, jokes, and general negative bullshit about him and his presidency for the past 8 years. But when I started to return the "favor" after the most recent election, it seems my political commentary isn't appreciated, and has actually generated some hostility. So in the interest of peace and harmony, I'll keep my political views separate.

I have had my last political discussion with those members of my family. I love them dearly, and wish to maintain harmony with them. If a discussion turns to politics I'll simply keep my mouth shut and walk the fuck away.

So let's see where this goes.

In the beginning

This is to be a place for my political thoughts, links, and such.

My rules are simple:
1) If it offends you, leave. nobody is keeping you here.
2) Comments WILL be moderated by me. If I don't like the comment....it goes away.
3) I will give credit where credit is due for links posted here.
4) If I copy something here, I will put a link back to where it came from.
