In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of
Edinborough, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some
2,000 years prior:
"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a
permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until
the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts
from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for
the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with
the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal
policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."
"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of
history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations
always progressed through the following sequence:
From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."
The Obituary follows:
Born 1776, Died 2008
It doesn't hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul,
Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the last
Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Obama: 19 McCain: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 McCain: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million McCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2
McCain: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was
mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.
Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low income
tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..."
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
"complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy,
with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached
the "governmental dependency" phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal
invaders called illegal's - and they vote - then we can say goodbye to the
USA in fewer than five years.
If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.
If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much
is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.
This is truly scary! Of course we are not a democracy, we are a
Constitutional Republic. Someone should point this out to Obama. Of
course we know he and too many others pay little attention to The
Constitution. There couldn't be more at stake than on Nov 2012.
If you are as concerned as I am please pass this along.
A place for my unwanted political views and commentary. Sometimes you just need to let it out before it eats you alive.

Okay kiddies, It's that time of year again when we get to see first hand how Barry's "health care reform" is helping us. Yes, it's "open enrollment" time. Remember there were no checks and/or balances to keep the cost of insurance down. Well, my COLA raise will be taken away (and then some) to cover the new cost of my health insurance. Premiums are going up 11%. For this 11% increase, we get 33% higher co-pays for Dr visits, 50% more for urgent care and ER visits, and prescriptions will cost me 3 times as much. While for some people this isn't much, but for those of us living on the raggedy edge, this is a major hit. I'm at a crossroads here. Do I give myself a substantial raise and opt out of the insurance package, then pray nothing goes wrong? Or do I make even deeper cuts into what I already can't afford. I'm leaning toward opting out, at least till 2014 when even THAT choice is taken away by an over reaching government.
So much for the "hope and change" you all voted in.
So much for the "hope and change" you all voted in.

The more things change, the more they stay the same
"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America 's debt limit
is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government
cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing
financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's
reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America 's debt weakens us
domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops
here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today
onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt
problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better." ~
Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006!
So..... What's "changed" since Barry took office.....I mean OTHER than the fact he's run our deficit up higher than any sitting president in the history of this country. ( and that's after adjusting for inflation) Or the fact that he's STILL trying to spend our way out of debt. Even with control of both houses, your savior couldn't get anything done to actually help this country.

So ... What do you want to See in a Presidential Candidate?
In 2012 .... what are the choices for president? The "Hope and Change"
didn't leave people hopeful so they voted out democrats and changing the
house back to republican controlled the first chance they got. What was
the alternative? The only thing the Republicans have done so far is
stopped the democrats every chance they get .... THIS IS A GOOD THING as
the Democrats in the 4 years they controlled the house and Senate (Not 2
but 4. Two under Bush and 2 under Obama) messed things up further. It's
a sad day when a stalemate is better than letting one party control
everything.
In 2012 .... what's going to "Change" for Obama? Is Obama the best the Democrats can "Hope" for? Is Obama going to "Change?" Look at the past as a good indicator. In 3 years, he's made a ton of empty promises, the Democrats who held the power for 2 of his 3 years made things worse (all the while claiming things were getting better). Remember when the recession ended ..... then oops it the recession was worse than they originally thought? These are your "leaders?"
Come on! Would you accept this from anybody else? Any business you deal with?
When Obama was running for office, he sold the country a "Easy Fix" for everything that was wrong in America. Did it work? Ask those millions still unemployed. Ask those millions still without health care. Ask those millionaires who got richer. Ask those wall street bankers who got huge bonuses after being bailed out. Ask those large corporations who paid no taxes according to the Democrats yet were appointed to job creation committees and given millions in bail-out money.
How about those banks ..... many of you don't like the fees your banks are charging you? This is brought on by our Govt changing the rules to make things "better" for consumers. Because the banks are "making less money" they are charging more fees to make up for it. How is this "better?"
How about the people without health insurance? Why can't Americans have the same health plan as our "leaders?" The jury's still out on whether or not they exempted themselves from the bill they put in place .... Why? The same bill is being sent to the Supreme Court. Why?
Yeah ... so far the Tea Party and the Republicans have pretty much only 1 choice (Romney) but what's the alternative .... another 4 years with an unqualified, "No Change" "No Hope of things Changing" Obama?
My money's on the unknown. Somethings got to change!

Obama is victim of Bush's failed promises !
Here's an opinion piece by Chuck Green who writes "Greener Pastures"
for the Denver Post Aurora Sentinel...one of the more liberal papers in the country. Additionally, Mr. Green is a lifelong Democrat...so this is rather a stunning piece...
Obama is victim of Bush's failed promises !
Barack Obama is setting a record-setting number of records during his first term in office:
Largest budget ever. Largest deficit ever. Largest number of broken promises ever.
Most self-serving speeches ever. Largest number of agenda-setting failures ever. Fastest dive in popularity ever!
Wow ! Talk about change.
Just one year ago, fresh from his inauguration celebrations, President Obama
was flying high. After one of the nation's most inspiring political campaigns,
the election of America 's first black president had captured the hopes and dreams
of millions. To his devout followers, it was inconceivable that a year later his administration would be gripped in self-imposed crisis.
Of course, they don't see it as self-imposed. It's all George Bush's fault !
George Bush, who doesn't have a vote in congress and who no longer occupies
The White House, is to blame for it all.
He broke Obama's promise, to put all bills on the White House web site for five
days before signing them.
He broke Obama's promise, to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C-SPAN.
He broke Obama's promise, to end earmarks.
He broke Obama's promise, to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent.
He broke Obama's promise, to close the detention center at Guantanamo
in the first year.
He broke Obama's promise, to make peace with direct, no precondition talks with America's most hate-filled enemies during his first year in office, ushering in a
new era of global cooperation.
He broke Obama's promise, to end the hiring of former lobbyists into high
White House jobs.
He broke Obama's promise, to end no-compete contracts with the government.
He broke Obama's promise, to disclose the names of all attendees at closed
White House meetings.
He broke Obama's promise, for a new era of bipartisan cooperation in all matters.
He broke Obama's promise, to have chosen a home church to attend Sunday
services with his family by Easter of last year.
Yes, it's all George Bush's fault ! President Obama is nothing more than a puppet
in the never-ending failed Bush administration.
If only George Bush wasn't still in charge, all of President Obama's problems
would be solved. His promises would have been kept, the economy would be
back on track, Iran would have stopped its work on developing a nuclear bomb
and would be negotiating a peace treaty with Israel . North Korea would have
ended its tyrannical regime, and integrity would have been restored to the federal government.
Oh, and did I mention what it would be like, if the Democrats, under the leadership
of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, didn't have the heavy yoke of George Bush around
their necks? There would be no ear marks, no closed-door drafting of bills,
no increase in deficit spending, no special-interest influence (unions), no vote buying ( Nebraska , Louisiana ).
If only George Bush wasn't still in charge, we'd have real change by now.
All the broken promises, all the failed legislation and delay (health care reform, immigration reform) is not President Obama's fault or the fault of the Democrat-controlled Congress. It's all George Bush's fault !
Take for example the decision of Eric Holder, the president's attorney general,
to hold terrorists' trials in New York City . Or his decision to try the Christmas Day underpants bomber as a civilian.
Two disastrous decisions.
Certainly those were bad judgments based on poor advice from George Bush !
Need more proof?
You might recall that when Scott Brown won the election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts , capturing "The Ted Kennedy Seat", President Obama said,
Brown's victory was the result of the same voter anger that propelled Obama
into office in 2008. People were still angry about George Bush and the policies
of the past 10 years. And they wanted change.
Yes, according to the president, the voter rebellion in Massachusetts ,
was George Bush's fault.
Therefore, in retaliation, they elected a Republican to the Ted Kennedy seat,
ending a half-century of domination by Democrats. It is all George Bush's fault !
Will the failed administration of George Bush ever end, and the time
for hope and change ever arrive ???
Will President Obama ever accept responsibility for something / anything?

Obamas quiver is empty
When Obama stands up to speak, he faces a collective "Been there, done that."
Ex-president George W. Bush with accustomed candor once shrugged after the end of his eight-year presidency, "People were kind of tired of me." That ennui happens eventually with most presidents. But in the case of Barack Obama, our modern Phaethon, his fiery crash is coming after 32, not 96, months.
We can sense the national weariness with Obama in a variety of strange and unexpected ways. There is the self-pitying anguish of liberal columnists who scapegoat him for turning the public against their own left wing agenda. The current silence of "moderate" Republicans and conservative op-ed writers who once in near ecstasy jumped ship to join Obama is deafening. A growing number of Democratic representatives and senators up for reelection do not want their partisan president to visit their districts in the run-up to November 2012. Approval ratings hover around 40 percent.
Perhaps strangest of all, there is now a collective "Been there, done that" any time Barack Obama walks up to the podium to give yet another tele-prompted speech. The speeches still are well delivered; he still has a way with the mannerisms and cadences. But even his critics pray for his sake that he does not come out with yet another embarrassing "Let me be perfectly clear," "Make no mistake about it," or "Let's be honest" -- as he goes back to bashing either the tired Bush bogeyman or yet another straw man Satanic reactionary who, if not for Barack Obama, supposedly would expose children to mercury, neglect roads and bridges, and finally dissolve government altogether. We have all heard ad nauseam that an eight-month-old Republican-controlled Congress has stopped Obama's legislative agenda for three years.
In truth, Obama is out of arrows. His quiver is bare, because he came into office as a rhetorical president without much experience or any ideas other than growing even bigger a tired big government. And now the public realizes that both the speeches and the big spending do not work. The result is that we collectively know what the president cannot any longer say -- and it proves far greater than what he can say. He is well past the point of Jerry Ford's WIN buttons or Jimmy Carter's fist-pounding malaise speech.
Obama cannot jawbone interest rates down -- they are already at near-zero on passbook accounts. Obama cannot ask the EPA to shut down any more powerhouses or the NLRB to try to close any more new manufacturing plants. Obama cannot really ask for any more big borrowing programs -- not after running up $5 trillion in new debt and getting little economic activity in response. The bogus vocabulary of "stimulus," "shovel-ready," and "investments" provokes laughter; it does not ensure an unemployment rate no higher than 8 percent. He cannot, with a straight face, appeal to the collective wisdom of Geithner, Goolsbee, Orszag, Romer, and Summers -- or quote the predictable shrillness of Paul Krugman on the need for ever greater debt. Those academic arrows were long ago shot in vain. In truth, every classical Keynesian remedy has been tried, and we are left only with the hard work of trimming regulations, talking up business, producing more fossil fuels, and returning to budget discipline, thrift, greater productivity, and radical reform of the tax code and entitlements. What Obama might say on all that, his ideological training and shrinking base will not allow him to say -- as we saw from his shunning of his own Simpson-Bowles commission.
Obama cannot give one more speech on "civility." He has done that for three years -- only to violate his own directives by urging voters to "punish" our "enemies" and demonizing those who make over $200,000 as culpable "millionaires and billionaires," "fat cats," and owners of "corporate jets." To oppose Obama is to be a "hostage" taker. The nation got Obama's accustomed calls to cool the partisan invective while Jimmy Hoffa and Maxine Waters were slurring tea-party members as "son of a bitches" and telling them to "go straight to Hell" -- confident that Barack Obama's collective morality does not apply to them. The result is that another appeal to "civility" would now at best earn laughter.
He cannot promise a "summer of recovery," not after chronic 9 percent unemployment, soaring food and fuel costs, a herky-jerky stock market, near-zero growth, record deficits and debt, and the downgrading of the nation's credit. Perhaps Obama could promise us relief of only a $1 trillion annual deficit, a return to 8 percent unemployment, $3-a-gallon gas, a steady GDP growth rate of 2 percent, holding the debt at $16 trillion, and opening a single new oil field.
Nor can Mr. Obama any longer call for "millions of green jobs." Valerie Jarrett, Obama's personnel adviser, cannot any longer purr out, "Oooh. Van Jones, alright! So, Van Jones. . . . We were watching him for as long as he's been active out in Oakland." Between that silliness and today, there have been just too many hundreds of millions of dollars wasted in subsidizing "green" sweetheart deals that ended in bankruptcies. More calls to buy government-produced Chevy Volts I don't think would work.
Obama cannot promise to close Guantanamo or try KSM in Manhattan. Nor can he even continue the demagogic attacks on the Bush-Cheney national-security protocols -- not when he embraced and expanded them all. In 2012 his commercials will highlight killing bin Laden in Pakistan, not closing Guantanamo or ending Predator-drone attacks. And yet, neither can Obama's team speak any longer of "overseas contingency operations" and "man-caused disasters." He is between the rock and the hard place of both caricaturing and adopting the policies that work when they were alleged not to work -- so he is quiet on that count too.
His address to Congress last week went nowhere. It was hyped well. It was delivered well. It was comprehensive. But Obama had nothing to say that we have not already heard from him -- and that has not already failed or proved to be hypocritical.
When the quiver is empty, the archer puts his bow away. Silence, not "This is our moment," is the wisest course for Barack Obama now that the arrows are all gone.

How it happened
laughed my ass off when I saw this.
A small zoo in Kentucky obtained a very rare species of gorilla. Within a few weeks the gorilla, a female, became very difficult to handle. Upon examination, the veterinarian determined the problem. The gorilla was in heat. To make matters worse, there was no male gorilla available.
Thinking about their problem, the Zoo Keeper thought about part-time worker, a staunch Democrat, responsible for cleaning the animal cages. Like most Democrats, he had little sense but possessed ample ability to satisfy a female of any species like his hero, Bill Clinton.
The Zoo Keeper thought they might have a solution. He approached the Democrat with a proposition. Would he be willing to mate with the gorilla for $500?
He showed some interest, but said he would have to think the matter over carefully. The following day, he announced that he would accept their offer, but only under five conditions:
“First, I ain't gonna kiss her on the lips."
The Keeper quickly agreed to this condition.
“Second, she must wear a 'Che Guvera Forever' T-Shirt."
The keeper again readily agreed to this condition.
“Third, you can't never tell no one about this."
The keeper again readily agreed to this condition.
“Fourth, I want all the children raised Democrats."
Once again it was agreed.
"And last, I'll need another week to come up with the $500."
And that folks, is why Obama won't show us his birth certificate.

Drugs
I'd like to take a moment to thank Barry for signing the "health care reform" into law without any checks and balances. While my employer was kind enough to absorb the insurance rate increase, we were warned to be prepared for the "above normal" increases in costs of health care this year.
Thanks to that "lovely" piece of legislation shoved down our throats, the $5.00 a month prescription for my GERD medication has jumped to a whopping $50.00 a month. Seems the insurance co. has reclassified it as a "tier 3 generic". The tier 1 generic available isn't nearly as effective at controlling my GERD. (I've taken it before) As a result, I might suggest buying stock in Arm and Hammer baking soda. Something tells me I'm gonna be using A LOT of it in the not so distant future.
Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.
Thanks a million Barry........ asshole.

“Unintentional” Co-Conspirators
I found this on the net and found it thought provoking.

I wanted to discuss how years of inflammatory, often violent, rhetoric from the far Left walked us all right up to the moment in Tucson where liberal hate led to liberal violence in one horrific afternoon. I wanted to point out how the incessant drumbeat of rage from Democrat Party outlets like MSNBC and Daily Kos was laying a welding torch to the gunpowder of Leftist anger. I wanted to expound on the fact that the endless “Worst person in the world” ranting from MSNBC’s Zen master of hate Keith Olbermann, with the defamatory efforts of his “mini-me,” the appallingly angry Rachel Maddow, would ultimately drive one of their brainless acolytes to the edge of insanity.
But none of that really matters. Today, a husband sits anxiously next to his wife’s hospital bed. Today, a family is preparing to bury their husband and father. Children have to say goodbye to parents. Parents have to say goodbye to children.
Nonetheless, while the Democrat Party urges its supplicant media to find a way to pin the murder of six people on Sarah Palin, the Tea Party and the GOP by proxy; the facts reveal a vastly different picture. It’s a picture of the ultimate expression of Leftist rage, fanned by monsters like Markos Moulitsas, raging idiots like Olbermann, violent union thugs from the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and possibly the anti-semitic roaring of characters like former President Jimmy Carter.
While Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) was clinging to life, Democrat Party shill Paul Krugman showed up on television to offer: “..violent acts are what happen when you create a climate of hate. And it’s long past time for the GOP’s leaders to take a stand against the hate-mongers.” I’ll presume that Krugman didn’t mean statements like this one:
“If you get hit, we will punch back twice as hard…”
Or this one:
“I’m itching for a fight.”
Or this one:
“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun…”
All of the preceding statements were made by homicidal terrorist William Ayers’ friend, Barack Obama, since he won the Presidential election of 2008. Nonetheless, forget all of it. Forget Olbermann’s lunatic yammering on the Democrats’ “news” channel, MSNBC. Set aside Daily Kos and their violent vitriol:
"Not all of these people will get, or even deserve primaries, but this vote certainly puts a target on their District." (this statement listed Gabriella Giffords and showed a picture of a bullseye.)
Peruse those words again, then tell me again how appalling Sarah Palin’s ads are. Daily Kos also scrubbed a “diary” by an acolyte who calls himself “Boy Blue” which made repeated references to a Congresswoman being “dead.” Make sure you keep in mind Daily Kos owner Moulitsas’ endorsement of Islamofascist terrorism when you do.
Shuffle the SEIU’s assaults on Obamacare opponents to the back of your mind. Lock away your images of the NAACP standing up for cop killers like Troy Davis. And consider this: Jared Lee Loughner appears to be Unabomber-crazy. While the Democrat Party trots out the big media and blogosphere guns to pin the Tucson tragedy on conservatism, their macabre effort to profit from human suffering and death rings as hollow as an Ed Schultz “voter fraud is ok when it benefits the Democrat Party” monologue.
The Left has developed a cottage industry built on hatred. And while the nation united in mourning the loss of the victims of Loughner’s murderous rage, they left the door to their asylum wide open. But amidst the cacophony of liberal rage, I’ll simply say:
Good night, sweet Christina Green. You deserved better. "
For those who don't know, Christina Green was the girl who was killed at Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) town hall meeting in Tuscan AZ last Saturday. Christina was only 9
